Yoga Teacher Training

In January 2021, OmShanti Yoga Living with Lisa McCabe became the first Yoga Alliance 200hr Teacher training school in Jersey.

This training is shaped by my years of study, teaching, and clinical experience. I’ve trained internationally with leading teachers and have developed a programme that goes far beyond asana — grounded in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and the wider context of yoga philosophy and history. Within the manuals, we also explore lesser-known philosophical threads and source-based teachings, helping to clarify areas where yoga is often oversimplified or where common myths have been repeated over time. Everything is taught through a factual, evidence-informed lens, reflecting the growing body of research into yoga’s therapeutic applications and ensuring students leave with practical, safe, and relevant skills they can confidently apply.

Train with me to gain the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to teach yoga safely, intelligently, and with real integrity.

This programme goes beyond the postures, blending applied anatomy, physiology and biomechanics with clear, source-informed philosophy and history — so you understand why you’re teaching what you’re teaching, not just how. You’ll explore both well-known and lesser-covered philosophical teachings, helping you navigate common misconceptions with nuance and respect, and communicate yoga in a way that feels grounded and accurate.

You’ll develop a strong understanding of the human body in movement, so you can teach with clarity, adapt for different bodies, and make thoughtful choices around alignment, load, and progressions. We place a big emphasis on intelligent sequencing — building classes that are purposeful, balanced, and effective, with clear outcomes rather than random “flows”.

Across 200+ hours of immersive learning, you’ll be supported with structured manuals, personalised guidance, and a clear pathway from student to teacher. By the end, you’ll leave with a robust, evidence-informed foundation and a teaching approach that is confident, credible, and genuinely useful in the modern world.
